Dear Colleagues,

The University of Ottawa and the National Research Council Canada (NRC) invite you to take part in the Official Opening of the National Ultrahigh-Field NMR Facility for Solids and the NRC Magnetic Resonance Facility in Ottawa on June 1st, 2006.

picture Both NMR Facilities are located in the newly renovated W.G. Schneider Building, named after former NRC president Dr. William G. Schneider (photo), famous for his pioneering work in high-resolution NMR. Dr. Schneider will officiate the Grand Opening Ceremony which, coincidently, will be held on his 91st birthday! Other dignitaries are also scheduled to attend.

The Opening Ceremony will be followed by the Inaugural Solid State NMR Workshop, held as a joint session with XeMat-III International Symposium on Xe NMR of Materials. M-40, NRC, 1200 Montreal road
